On the occasion of the National Day of the Presidency of the Republic of Serbia at a ceremony on February 15, 2016 President of the Republic of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic gave the dr. Slavomir Gvozdenovic, Serbian deputy in the Parliament of Romania, the Gold Medal of Merit - award for outstanding contribution in public and cultural activities, as well as for the development of cooperation and friendly relations between Serbia and Romania.
         Slavomir Gvozdenovic, born in 1953 in Romania, is the undisputed symbol and guardian of Serbian national identity and the true synonym for the Serbian national community in Romania. The highest award assigned by the President of the Republic deserves its decades of untiring zeal in the social, public, cultural, literary and patriotic plan. Note that Gvozdenovic also the only one this year's winner of the Serb diaspora.
